In the magazine “The Homes of Elixir“, on the occasion of issue No. 106 of October/November 2022, the project “The art of living: design and artistic works in a delightful Brescian penthouse” is discussed.
The project, by Architect Emanuele Vergine, saw Staffoni Arredamenti involved in the supply of furniture and accessories to compete with the final goal: to break down the limitations of interior spaces by developing a single living area capable of dialoguing with the large corridor that connects the sleeping area.

In this realization, the art of living embraces design and artistic works with the intention of creating a convivial and welcoming environment, but at the same time refined and able to intrigue and amaze. The concepts that Architect Vergine focused on are those of spatial fluidity, materiality and light enhancement: to this end, each room has been reorganized to give different materials (wood, stone and glass) the opportunity to find their own extravagant and satisfying compositional harmony.

LIVING AREA: EXPLOITING A CONTINUOUS FURNITURE ELEMENT TO CREATE CONNECTIONS
The living area is presented as a single room characterized by a continuous furniture element that evolves into the kitchen. The intent behind this solution is to revolutionize the living room furniture to make it a cooking area marked by convivial character, the true heart of the home. In fact, thanks to the presence of the stools (Caratos, MaxAlto) and the table (Xilos, MaxAlto) surrounded by refined fabric armchairs (Caratos, MaxAlto) and surmounted by the precious hanging lamp (Bolle, Gallotti and Radice), a satisfying sense of conviviality is generated by creating a connection to the living room proper, where the sofa (model Sanders) breaks the classic composition to lend itself to allow both views, thanks to the movable backrests. The configuration of the living area is enriched with the impressive sculptures and paintings provided by “Gare 82,” as well as through a composition of round coffee tables (Bob, Poltrona Frau), the hexagonal pouf (Hive, B&B Italia) and the TV with its sought-after pedestal.

LIVING AREA BATHROOM: BOLD, SPIRITED AND YOUTHFUL CHARACTER
The bathroom serving the living area, which has a bold character, makes use of floral wallpaper to frame the imposing black bathtub and equally colorful walls to contrast with the monolithic stoneware sink to make the entire room look lively and youthful.

SLEEPING AREA: DELICACY, INTIMACY AND SOPHISTICATION
The master bedroom, where the rhinoceros-sculpture by Stefano Bombardieri stands out, turns out to be a delicate and very intimate room in which the imposing bed (Alcova, MaxAlto) is the real protagonist. The latter has been oriented toward the large, bright glass window so as to favor the view to the outside. In the background, the console table (Eileen, B&B Italia) combined with a pouf (Leplì, Poltrona Frau) complete the space. On either side of the bed, however, the two Alisee side tables, by Molteni&Co, frame it, accompanying it in refined style. The whole is enhanced by various works of art.

BEDROOM AREA BATHROOM: SOFT AND DELICATE TONES
The bathroom, reserved for the exclusive use of the room, is characterized by the use of wallpaper in soft, delicate tones. The mirror of considerable size embellishes the wall that houses the washbasin cabinet in piasentina stone, while on the opposite side the trapezoidal-shaped shower aims to break the perspective of the space. The parquet flooring contributes to the overall sense of warmth given by the coloring and natural essence of the wood, while the lighting accompanies the spaces while maintaining clean lines.
